IMBOLC

I have more posts on nature of romantic love planned between now and V.D. (as I like to call it). I wouldn't be doing my job as a witch if I didn't tell you that tonight at sunset is Imbolc, or Candlemas.

Modern pagans have, for the most part, given Imbolc the fixed date of February 1st, but the actual occurence of the "door between the worlds" opening is when the sun reaches 15 degrees of Aquarius, which is tonight.

The Feast of First Milk, when the ewes begin nursing the lambs conceived in the later part of summer, is also the feast of First Light. The light of the candle, the light of the sun on the groundhogs shadow, the promise of warmth and spring to come.

How are the lambs you conceived before Samhain, or Halloween, coming along? What dreams have you been gestating that are ready to see the first light of day, and start growing in this world?

Despite the fact that the moon is void until tomorrow morning, there are some fabulous celestial movements backing you. Tonight's ritual should not be for magick or spells, but to celebrate the warmth and light of the Lady, as she waits for (and nurtures) her consort, the Lord, to grow to full maturity.

The dreams that you nurture tonight amid the glow of candles and offerings will be ready by May if you dedicate yourself to them now.

And say a prayer for the world, and for everyone you know.

PRAISES, THANKS, & BLESSINGS!!!
