The last time their was an Apocolypse was the fourteenth century. There were two big contributors: what we now refer to as the Hundred Years War, and bubonic plague. "So swift that one often break-fasted with their families here on earth, then dined with their ancestors in heaven."
Sound familiar? I watched the bird flu movie tonight. Normally I wouldn't expect a television programme of any calibre to deliver a mystic message, but I did get a strange shimmer at one point, as the death toll numbers twirled their segue to commercials.
There is so much intolerance and hatred in the world right now. I am certainly not immune to it. Everyone seems fed up. We have all become so aware of each other, and there are so many of us. Perhaps like the poor chickens we really can't remain in healthy in such large flocks, crammed together, beak and claw clipped, wire cages pressing into our flesh, being fed artifically flavoured sawdust and concrete instead of truly nourishing food.
We need to be more careful with our resources, especially in more developed countries. We need to give more care to our health. We have so much in this country, can't we give up a little? What can we do to bring ourselves back in balance with nature? We must find a way before all of our knowledge and technology wipes us off the face of the planet.
At least the folks back in the 1300's had an excuse. No one was even sure where the plague came from. But we know that we are unhealthy. We know that we are out of balance.
And on a spiritual level, if we are too resistant to each other, if we become to rigid and inflexible, how will we ever heal? If we do not find some way to appreciate each other will the Gods be forced to teach us how important we are to each other? And if there is such karma, then I fear it would be the best of us that would be taken, much like the Christian story of the Apocalypse in the Book of Revelations. Who is to say that the rapture won't come as swift as Petrarch's description of the plague?
How welcome is the old enemy in a world where one is alone, surrounded by sickness and death? Must we learn the hard way? Let us consider and re-consider. Let us learn from the past.
Let us become as smart as we think we are.
Tomorrow's Libra moon is great for planting flowers or beautfying the garden. The Beltaine full moon in Scorpio is this Friday night. Thursday and Friday are excellent days to plant vegetables and flowers.
And we are still in the Feast of Beltaine, and the door between the worlds remains open. Speak to your loved ones on the other side, and perhaps plant or pick some flowers for them.
And don't forget to feed the birds, please. It will keep them healthy and also earn you mega-karma points.
PRAISES, THANKS, AND BLESSINGS!!!
PS- Apparently those 6 + 6 + 06 billboards are for a movie.
