For some years now I have been haunted with images of a not-distant-enough future that I describe as being a cross between the movies Road Warrior, Tank Girl, Soylent Green, and now, Wall-E, without the comfy spaceships.
Basically, a hot, trash-filled planet where humans eat whatever they have to in order to survive. And survival in formerly developed countries like ours, is more difficult than in poor countries.
So far, I have only had those glimpses and feelings to back it up. Until I saw this article:

It's about two years ahead of when I felt something like this would be in the headlines, so I have alot of hope. Maybe we are finally waking up to the fact that the planet will surely survive without us, regardless of how hot or cold, or dry or wet, the earth becomes.
But we humans can only survive if the Lady Nature remains within a certain temperature range, and supplies us with a very specific ratio of elements (breathable air, drinkable water, etc).
At last, it seems we are going to give the Lady the respect she deserves. But how to repair the mess we are already in?
I think that really it is going to come down to each individual taking a tough look at his/her own life. The only way to live in a nurturing, sustainable world is to become a nurtured and sustained person. And that means learning to love ourselves pronto.
It is lack of love that drives greed, hate, destruction of precious resources, and disrespect for our environments. If you love yourself, you cannot harm yourself and you cannot harm others.
I recommend the "novel" 2150 A.D. by Thea Alexander as a guidebook for where our compass needs to be set to navigate to a better future. And, of course, Louise Hay's You Can Heal Your Life.
The television series Heroes had a tagline "Save the Cheerleader, Save the World." I would paraphrase: Heal yourself, heal the planet... And save the world.
I will be exploring this topic over the next few weeks as the sun transits Pisces. I hope you will join me in searching for a roadmap to a better future.
PRAISES, THANKS, & BLESSINGS!!!
