THURSDAY 29 DECEMBER 2005

In the last few days the news has been horrors: a man swung an ax around on the Hollywood subway platform; a group of teens in Milwaukee mobbed and beat a man who honked at them to get out of the road; a second child's remains were found in Corona; there was shootout at the DMV; and it's only been a few days since the police gunned down a man wielding a knife in New Orleans.

There are omens and portents: rare seabirds showing up in Northern California, and "Reggie" the alligator is back on the news. I'm sorry I deleted the post now, because it just makes me sound so much crazier than people give me credit for being-- but as I have said before, I doubt Reggie is a "real" alligator. He is a spirit trying to warn us. A sign of water disasters. He showed up just before Katrina. And those birds are a message. They are fleeing something or trying to warn San Francisco about a catastrophe.

But so few people believe that there can be omens, and fewer still heed them. I myself feel somewhat silly even saying them! And I am a believer!

Remember before the tsunami last year, when Stuart Wilde went on Art Bell's show and said that he'd had a vision of Seattle covered in water from a giant tidal wave? I think his timing was off, and perhaps a little further down the coast. I also think that we are in for some heavy rains or flooding due to mudslides, all of which have been predicted by the only sorcerors we listen to these days: the meteorologists and the television news.

A little flooding in and of itself isn't so bad, but I think we are about to get a bundle. Too many natural disasters destabilize the economy and our national outlook. And I fear we have not seen the last of the rampages and raging among the young and those that are already too de-stabilized. This Mars transit and Saturn in Leo, there is too much fire energy right now. Too much anger, hatred, disease, fear, war, and rash behaviour. Have been clumsy lately? We are all more accident prone these days. Watch yourself.

I am not writing this to be gloom and doom. On the contrary, I believe that by praying, or sending positive vibes, and by being a force for calm serenity and friendly acceptance to all those you come in contact with, you can not only make it through the next few weeks, but actually help others as well. (Although I do recommend preparing yourself for disasters as best you can.) I worry about this weekend and I would like to encourage everyone to stay close to home for your New Year's celebrations.

These are times that test us, but they are also the times that teach us that all we really have to go on in this world is our faith.

PRAISES, THANKS, & BLESSINGS!
