Today is the first day of the New Year for witches, Druids, and other magickal beings. (See my last post for details on Samhain, the witches New Year and the ancestor of the modern holiday Halloween.)
Last night's party was awesome and well attended by spirits-- both human and non-human. A good time was had by all. I did over-indulge in the vino, making the latter part of the evening a wee bit hazy, but what is a Feast without a hangover?
Based on the glimpses I had last night, and also the fact that the Scorpio New Moon is this evening, after sunset, I think this year will be the Year of Truth. Expect more surprises and skeletons coming out of the closet along the lines of the Mafia arrest, and the political scandals in Illinois and New York.
Unfortunately I think we can also expect more accidents like San Francisco's oil spill, and school shootings are becoming downright commonplace. I also expect more setbacks in the financial market between now and Yule, and probably the crash I predicted for last spring is actually slated for this year in March.
There are three nights left of the Feast of Samhain, take a moment tonight, tomorrow, and Sunday at sunset to light a candle for those on the other side. Take a moment to think about what you want for the year ahead, and to really recieve the blessings you have been given.
