SUMMER SOLSTICE 2007

Today is the Summer Solstice in the Northern Hemisphere. This is what astrologer Mark Lerner calls the "Full Sun" of the year. The day of the sun's greatest power. The day when the sun, gaining in strength and lengthing the days since the Winter Solstice, halts. Today is the longest day of the year. Now the sun begins to "wane."

Today is a day of peak fertility, not the kind of creative fertility one encounters at Bealtaine, or May Day, but the day when Corn King roams the fields and revels in their green height. Their is no scythe to cut down the ripening grain. The harvest is not yet come, only the promise of plenty and abundance against the distant knowledge of barren winter.

It is a good night for lovemaking, and feasting, and celebration. It is the day when the Sacred dance of the Lord and Lady bears fruit.

Raise your glass and give a blessing to the earth and Her bounty, and say thanks for all the riches in your life.

PRAISES, THANKS, & BLESSINGS!!!!
